The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced a full-scale investigation into allegations of malpractice in the ongoing 2025 Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE).
In a statement issued on Sunday, September 7, the GES said it had taken note of media reports, particularly a JoyNews TV documentary, which alleged cheating in some schools.
Management assured the public that transcripts of the documentary would be obtained and thoroughly scrutinised as part of the probe.
The Service reaffirmed its zero tolerance for examination malpractice and warned that any official, teaching or non-teaching, found complicit would face severe disciplinary action.
According to the GES, the investigation has the full backing of the Education Minister, Haruna Iddrisu, and will be carried out in collaboration with WAEC, National Security, and law enforcement agencies to stamp out the menace.
