The German Ambassador to Ghana, H.E. Frederick Landshoft, has donated four weather sheds to the Ghana Immigration Service to improve working conditions for officers stationed at the Aflao border.

The sheds, presented during a brief ceremony in the Volta Region, are intended to protect immigration officers from harsh weather, including heavy rains and extreme heat, while performing their duties.

Speaking at the event, Ambassador Landshoft emphasized the strategic significance of the Aflao border, describing it as Ghana’s second most important entry point after Kotoka International Airport. He noted that the post plays a critical role in both national security and economic activity, making it essential to support officers operating at the frontline.

Receiving the donation on behalf of the GIS, Deputy Comptroller-General in charge of Finance and Administration, Evelyn Lostu, expressed gratitude to the German government for the support. She said the sheds would significantly enhance officers’ working environment and improve operational efficiency at the border.

The ceremony was attended by Ghana’s High Commissioner to Togo, H.E. Captain George Nfojah, a representative of the paramount chief of Aflao, the Municipal Chief Executive, and other dignitaries.
