The Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection (MoGCSP) has cautioned the public against a circulating message claiming the government has launched a GH₡1,350 National Family Support Allowance.
In a disclaimer issued by its Public Affairs Unit, the Ministry described the announcement as false and misleading, stressing that no such programme has been introduced under the directive of President John Dramani Mahama or the Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Dr. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey.
According to the Ministry, it has not launched any initiative known as the National Family Support Allowance, nor approved any payment of GH₡1,350 over a three-month period.
It further noted that the website link being shared alongside the message is not an official platform of either the Government of Ghana or the Ministry.
The MoGCSP explained that all legitimate social protection programmes are communicated through verified government channels, including official websites, press releases, press conferences and accredited media outlets.
The Ministry has therefore urged the public to disregard the fraudulent message and avoid clicking on the link or providing personal information, warning that the scheme is likely intended to defraud unsuspecting citizens.
For accurate and up-to-date information on government social protection programmes, the Ministry advised the public to visit its official website, www.mogcsp.gov.gh, or follow its verified social media pages on Facebook, Instagram and X.
