A fierce fire on Sunday afternoon ravaged a cluster of commercial shops near the Shell Filling Station at Achimota Abofu, destroying several containers and their contents.
According to the Ghana National Fire Service (GNFS), the fire started around 3pm and was completely extinguished in three hours.

The blaze, which involved shops dealing in assorted drinks and other goods, was brought under control after a coordinated response by fire crews from the Anyaa, National Headquarters, and Legon Fire Stations.
No injuries were recorded, but seven metal containers filled with soft drinks, tissue paper, and other commercial goods were destroyed.

Fire personnel, however, succeeded in preventing the blaze from spreading to nearby shops and properties.
Investigations are underway to determine the cause of the fire.
