Residents of Kpele-Xorse, a farming community in the Ho West District of the Volta Region, have been thrown into shock following the mysterious disappearance of a farmer, believed to be in his late 50s, whose finger and traces of blood were discovered on his farm.
According to the Assembly member for the Lpele electoral area, Mr. Divin Tutu, the farmer, identified as Mr. Adovor Kodzo Delali, who is married with four children, left home for his farm early yesterday morning but failed to return, prompting concern from his wife.
A search party organized by relatives and neighbors led to the disturbing discovery of bloodstains scattered across his farmland, along with what appeared to be his finger. The unsettling scene has sparked tension in the area, with some residents fearing foul play or a possible ritual attack.
Local authorities have been informed, and the police have launched investigations. The Hlesi Police reportedly collected the alleged finger and other evidence under the supervision of the Anyonawase Police Command. Meanwhile, the alleged finger remains in the custody of the family as investigations continue.
Assembly members and community leaders are urging calm while security agencies work to unravel the mystery behind the farmer’s disappearance. Family members are also appealing to anyone with information about his whereabouts to assist the police.
The incident has reignited calls for increased security in farming communities, where farmers often work alone and are vulnerable to potential dangers.
