File: Court room

The Damongo Circuit Court, presided over by His Lordship Livingston Lartey Yao Ameevor, has granted bail to a 70-year-old man, Matthew Kupo, and his biological son, 43-year-old farmer Julius Kupo.

They were each granted bail in the sum of GH¢40,000 to reappear on October 14, 2025.

The two were arraigned before the court for allegedly forging documents covering 16 building plots, which they sold to three people for a total of GH¢42,500.

The plots are said to be the property of the Jogboi Stool in the Mo Traditional Area of the Bole District.

Meanwhile, the Chief of Jogboi, Solomon Antwi Dompeh, has cautioned residents of the Mo Traditional Area to desist from illegally selling plots of land without the consent of the chief and the customary land secretaries.

He stressed the importance of maintaining peace in the community.

He further noted that the recent dispute in Gbeniyiri stemmed from land issues, underscoring the need for unity and order in land administration.
