FA Cup chairman announces prize money for 2025/26 champion

The Chairman of the MTN FA Cup Committee, Wilson Arthur, has revealed the prize package for this season’s MTN FA Cup winner.

The competition resumes this weekend with the quarter-final stage, as the remaining clubs compete for places in the semi-finals. Matches will be hosted at the Cape Coast Stadium and the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park.

Speaking ahead of the fixtures, Arthur confirmed that the eventual champions will receive GH₵80,000 in prize money. In addition, the winners will be awarded GH₵100,000 to support preparations for continental competition, along with a share of the gate proceeds from the final.

“The winner of the MTN FA Cup final will receive GH₵100,000 for preparation for Africa, apart from the GH₵80,000 prize money and a share of the final gate proceeds,” he told Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.

In the quarter-final ties, Aduana FC will face Techiman Liberty Youth Club on Saturday.

Sunday’s fixtures will see Nations FC take on Berekum Chelsea at the Cape Coast Stadium. At Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park, Medeama SC will clash with Attram De Visser Soccer Academy, while Dreams FC take on Heart of Lions for the final semi-final slot.

The winner of the tournament will go on to represent Ghana in the 2026/27 CAF Confederation Cup.
