Asante Kotoko forward Albert Amoah has stated that every Ghanaian footballer deserves the chance to represent the Black Stars.
Amoah has been in impressive form for the Porcupine Warriors this season following a brief loan spell with Libyan side Al Ahly Benghazi, establishing himself as one of Kotoko’s standout performers.
In an interview with Akoma FM, the striker described a potential national team call-up as the ultimate goal for any local player.
“Every player would be happy to be part of the Black Stars. So, I think I’m a Ghanaian. If I’m part of the Black Stars team, I’ll be very happy,” he said.
Amoah also emphasized his readiness to step up should the opportunity arise, stressing that merit should guide national team selections.
“Well, I’m also a player. As far as I’m Ghanaian and playing, I think everyone deserves a chance. So, if it comes that I should go and play, I’ll be ready to take on that task,” he added.
Amoah is expected to lead Kotoko’s attack when they host arch-rivals Hearts of Oak in the Super Clash on Sunday at the Baba Yara Stadium, as part of Matchday 22.
