The Minister of Energy and Green Transition, John Jinapor, has paid a working visit to the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant in the Western Region to assess ongoing maintenance works.
During the inspection, the Minister expressed satisfaction with the progress made so far, commending engineers and technical staff for their dedication. He encouraged them to maintain the pace of work to ensure completion within the scheduled timeframe.
The Atuabo Gas Infrastructure Project, a critical component of Ghana’s energy sector, is currently undergoing a planned shutdown to boost production efficiency and expand processing capacity. Upon completion, the plant’s output is expected to increase from 100 million standard cubic feet (mmscf) to 120 million mmscf per day.
Minister Jinapor assured workers of the government’s support, emphasizing that both President John Dramani Mahama and the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition are fully committed to the project. He highlighted the plant’s importance in strengthening Ghana’s energy security and driving industrial growth.
Officials noted that the scheduled upgrade represents a significant step toward meeting the country’s growing demand for natural gas and ensuring a more reliable energy supply for households and industries.
