Crystal Palace forward Eddie Nketiah has praised Ghana, fueling speculation about a potential switch of international allegiance ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Speaking at the Best of Africa Awards in London, where he was honoured for his community impact, the 25-year-old celebrated Ghana’s talent and cultural influence, describing the nation as one of Africa’s finest.
“Ghana has a lot of amazing people, and we have some talented artists, talented football players, and talented people in general. I just think they are a bit better than a lot of African countries,” Nketiah said during his acceptance speech.
His remarks have intensified speculation about a possible nationality switch, although the England international has yet to clarify his intentions.
Nketiah, who has represented England at senior level, remains on the radar of the Ghana Football Association as the Black Stars prepare for the 2026 World Cup.
This Premier League season, he has featured in five matches for Crystal Palace, scoring once.
