But for the swift intervention of Police, an official of the Electoral Commission (EC) would have been lynched at Krachie West in the Oti region.
The incident is said to have occurred at the collation center at Krachie Senior High School (SHS).
According to Adom News’ Nasteen Ibn Saliu, some supporters of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) claimed the EC official had stolen a ballot box.
“They pulled him out of the car with the ballot box and subjected him to severe beatings” he added.
Ibn Saliu said the Police intervened and whisked the EC official away from the scene.
