The Member of Parliament for Tano North, Dr Gideon Boako, has announced plans to reconstruct the Yamfo Market as part of efforts to improve trading conditions and boost development in the constituency.
The announcement was made during a courtesy visit to the Chiefs and Elders at the Yamfo Palace, as well as market women in the area.
Dr Boako described the visit as a significant milestone in his tenure, noting that he sought the blessings and guidance of traditional authorities before formally unveiling the initiative.
“Today marks an important milestone in my work as the Member of Parliament for the good people of the Tano North Constituency,” he said.
“I am sincerely grateful for the warm reception, guidance, and blessing to proceed with this important initiative.”
According to the MP, the reconstruction project will provide a modern, safe, and well-organised trading space for traders in Yamfo.
He noted that the current state of the market requires urgent intervention to improve sanitation and create a more conducive environment for business activities.
“I am committed to reconstructing the Yamfo Market to provide a modern, safe, and well-organised trading space for our hardworking traders,” Dr Boako stated.
“The project will begin soon and is expected to enhance sanitation and promote business activities.”
The MP reaffirmed his commitment to development in Tano North, pledging to pursue initiatives that uplift livelihoods and strengthen the local economy.
“As the Member of Parliament, I am determined to bring accelerated development to my people, and I pray to God for the grace to do even more,” he added.
