Senior Advisor to the Bawumia Campaign and former Lawra MP, Anthony Abayifaa Karbo, has described former Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as the kind of calm and measured leader Ghana needs at this stage of its democratic development.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr Karbo dismissed claims that Dr Bawumia’s calm nature reflects weakness, stressing that effective governance requires composure rather than aggression.
“You need to fear people who are calm in nature. The presidency is not about rabble-rousers but cool heads. Dr Bawumia is never a weak person,” he said.
According to Mr Karbo, Ghana has outgrown confrontational leadership styles and now requires a president who is thoughtful, approachable, and reflective of the country’s democratic maturity.
“Governance is not about extremity or toughness. Ghana has gone past the Rawlings-type presidency. Our democracy has progressed, and Ghanaians want a leader who is measured and well-considered,” he noted.
He further argued that Ghanaians prefer a leader who can unite the nation and engage citizens without fear or intimidation.
Mr Karbo added that Dr Bawumia’s temperament positions him as a leader capable of steering the country forward while delivering results that meet the expectations of the people.
