Hearts of Oak head coach Mas-Ud Didi Dramani has downplayed concerns over the absence of two key players ahead of his side’s Ghana Premier League clash with Dreams FC.
The Phobians will host the Still Believe lads at the University of Ghana Stadium on Friday in their Matchday 19 fixture, with kickoff scheduled for 15:30 GMT.
Hearts will be without forward Mawuli Wayo, who is sidelined with injury, while defender Kelvin Osei Assibey is suspended after accumulating the maximum number of yellow cards. Despite the setbacks, Dramani insists his squad is well-prepared to cope.
“The key aspect is that we have a consolidated team, and so we are a team. Whether you like it or not, these two players will not be eligible. Once players are not eligible, we try not to even focus on them,” he said.
Dramani disclosed that injuries have affected several players in recent weeks but believes the team has shown enough resilience to navigate the challenges.
“Even in training, we try to concentrate on those that we can fill in. Apart from these two, there are still others who are not available because of injuries, and we have survived all this period,” he noted.
The Hearts coach also offered advice to Wayo, stressing the need for composure and discipline.
“It’s a very short cut, but I think that Mawuli will learn from that. Out of excitement, you need to be very modest so that you don’t lose your head, because he’s an important person in our setup,” Dramani added.
Friday’s encounter presents an opportunity for Hearts of Oak to maintain momentum as they continue their push up the league table.
