Courage Nobi exits Alan Kyerematen’s United Party

Director of Communications for the Movement for Change, now rebranded as the United Party, Courage Nobi, has officially resigned from the political movement.

In a statement released on Monday, November 3, Mr. Nobi explained that his decision followed “a period of reflection and a new direction for my life’s purpose and for Ghana—rooted in my unwavering commitment to faith, integrity, and patriotism.”

“I have, since the conclusion of the 2024 general elections, respectfully stepped away from the politics of the Movement for Change, now the United Party,” he stated.

He revealed that he had already communicated his decision to the party’s founder, Alan Kyerematen, affirming that he no longer holds any affiliation with the party.

“I have since personally communicated my decision to Alan Kyerematen and wish to state clearly and without ambiguity that I am not a member of the United Party,” the statement read.

Expressing gratitude for the opportunity to serve under the former Trade and Industry Minister, Mr. Nobi praised Mr. Kyerematen as a visionary leader committed to Ghana’s progress.

“I remain eternally grateful for the opportunity to have served under the brilliant leadership of Alan Kyerematen—championing his vision and cause. I hold a firm belief in his stature and continue to admire his deep love and commitment to our dear country, Ghana,” he said.

Reflecting on his political journey, he recounted his tenure as Director of Communications for the Youth Caucus during Mr. Kyerematen’s New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer campaign, before transitioning into senior roles within the Movement for Change.

“I had the honour of serving him as his Director of Communications for the Youth Caucus during his flagbearer campaign in the New Patriotic Party. Guided by my principles and conviction in his vision, I later served as Deputy Director of Communications and Deputy Director for Policy in his Movement for Change,” he recalled.

“This was due to my commitment to him as a leader and mentor and still as a statesman whom I deeply respect.”

Mr. Nobi also extended goodwill to the United Party as it continues its political journey.

“That said, I extend my best wishes to the leadership and members of the United Party in this new endeavour,” he added.

Reaffirming his focus on national progress, he stated that he will now concentrate on promoting ethical leadership and contributing to Ghana’s democratic discourse.

“With my unwavering patriotism and belief that Ghana can work, I remain avidly involved in the building of our nation through offering governance solutions, promoting and upholding ethical leadership, and presenting dissenting views to enhance good governance. I avail myself to every opportunity to enhance public discourse on critical national issues,” he said.
