The Church of Pentecost – Goaso Zone in the Ahafo Region is stepping up efforts to improve sanitation in Goaso, the regional capital.
During a recent cleanup exercise, Head Pastor of the Pentecost International Worship Centre (PIWC), Eric Herbert Acheampong, told Adom News that the church has launched an initiative called the “Environmental Care Campaign.”
The campaign seeks to raise awareness about sanitation and encourage regular cleanup activities.

Pastor Acheampong noted that many individuals, particularly shopkeepers, appear indifferent to maintaining a clean environment, as seen in their limited participation in the exercise, which was attended by the paramount queen mother of Goaso, Nana Afia Serwaa.
He emphasized that the church will continue its educational efforts and organize more cleanup initiatives to safeguard the environment and the community’s well-being.
Additionally, Pastor Cerphas Boatey, Coordinator of the Environmental Care Campaign, expressed concern about people littering without understanding the health risks involved. He urged Ghanaians, especially residents of Goaso, to adopt good sanitation practices for their own safety and that of others.
