Church of Christ Missionary donates to families of Obogu accident victims

A Ghanaian missionary and preacher of the Church of Christ, and founder of the Outreach Africa Vocational Institute, has donated assorted food items to the families of 16 young victims of a tragic accident involving the Obogu Saviour Church in the Asante Akyem South Municipality.

The presentation took place on Wednesday, September 3.

Preacher Dan Owusu Asiamah, accompanied by members of the Church of Christ in Obogu, consoled grieving families and shared in their pain.

The donation included bags of rice, cartons of Indomie noodles, cooking oil, tins of mackerel, bread, bathing and washing soap, bottled water, Milo, sugar, milk, and malt drinks, among other items.

Some items were also presented to the Omanhene of Obogu and his elders, a local school, and widowers within the Church of Christ at Obogu.

Elvis Antwi, Assembly Member for the Kroboline Electoral Area in Obogu and member of the Saviour Church, expressed heartfelt gratitude on behalf of the bereaved families and the church community for the support.

The tragic accident occurred on Monday, July 28, when a vehicle transporting members of the church’s youth ministry from their annual gathering collided head-on with a fuel tanker around 2:30 p.m.

Sixteen young people lost their lives instantly, while four others sustained injuries. Some survivors have since been discharged from the Osiam Hospital.
