The National Identification Authority (NIA) has announced the commencement of Ghana Card registration for children aged 6 to 14 years at all its Premium Centres nationwide.

According to the Authority, the initiative aligns with its legal mandate to ensure that every Ghanaian has a secure and verifiable national identity from childhood.

Registration at Premium Centres will cost GHS 310 and requires either a valid Ghanaian passport, the child’s birth certificate, or the presence of a parent or guardian who holds a Ghana Card.

Starting Monday, 15th September 2025, the NIA will extend its online registration and booking system to all 11 Premium Centres nationwide, allowing parents and guardians to schedule appointments conveniently.

The Authority assured the public that the issuance of Ghana Cards for registered children will begin soon. Registration services will later be expanded to all NIA District Offices across the country.
