The chiefs of Gyedu in the Ahafo Region have appealed to the government to address infrastructural deficiencies at the Gyedu Technical Institute to enhance teaching and learning.

Speaking on behalf of the chiefs, Nsiah Acheampong, Secretary of the Sustainable Development Committee (SDC), explained that the school, established by the community in 2010, has not received any government support, significantly affecting the quality of education.

According to Acheampong, the school, regarded as one of the best in the region, lacks essential resources, including an official vehicle for administrative tasks and a bus for student trips.

He also noted that several ongoing projects at the school are being financed by the community, highlighting the urgent need for government assistance to improve the educational environment.

Meanwhile, Seth Asare Bediako, Director of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) for the Ahafo Region, told Adom News that TVET schools in the region are facing urgent infrastructure and logistical challenges.

He observed that while interest in TVET education has significantly increased, the resources required to support effective teaching and learning remain inadequate. Bediako urged individuals, companies, and other stakeholders to assist the government in addressing these challenges.

He commended the Member of Parliament for Asutifi North, Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, the Asutifi North District Chief Executive, Hafiz Dauda, and the Ahafo Regional Minister, Charity Gardiner, for their efforts in supporting initiatives to improve teaching and learning at the school.
