The Central Regional Police Command has launched a manhunt for Kojo Antwi, accused of stealing a BMW S35X Gran, 2011 model, with registration number DV 9422–23, in Winneba.
According to police, the Winneba Divisional Command received a complaint on June 7, 2025, stating that about a year earlier, the suspect, reportedly in his mid-thirties, was sent by his uncle to a mechanic shop to repair and repaint a minor dent on the vehicle.
Instead of returning the car, Antwi allegedly went into hiding and has remained at large since.
Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspect still has possession of the BMW.
The Central Regional Police Command is appealing to residents of Winneba and surrounding communities to provide credible information that could lead to his arrest and the recovery of the vehicle.
Deputy Central Regional Public Relations Officer Isaac Entie urged the public to assist the police by sharing any useful information. Anyone with relevant details is encouraged to contact the police via the emergency number 18555 or call 0543 752 443.
