Spokesperson for the Bryan Acheampong campaign, Pius Enam Hadzide, has revealed that every New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate in the Eastern Region received a total of GH¢700,000 in direct campaign support from the presidential aspirant during the 2024 general elections.

Speaking on Adom TV’s Badwam, Hadzide said Acheampong demonstrated practical leadership by ensuring campaign resources reached the grassroots and polling station executives—an area he argued the party has historically struggled with.

“We need someone who understands that elections are won at the grassroots and is willing to resource that structure,” he stated. “In the NPP, resources often do not reach polling station executives and grassroots supporters. Dr. Bryan Acheampong has promised to change that.”

Hadzide explained that Acheampong personally financed the campaigns of all NPP parliamentary candidates in the Eastern Region during the 2024 elections.

“I was a parliamentary candidate myself. About six months before the December 7 election, he consistently funded our campaigns. Every candidate received GH¢100,000 initially, then GH¢200,000 in November, totaling GH¢700,000 each.”

The support extended beyond candidates. On election day, Acheampong reportedly released GH¢1 million to his campaign operations in the Asuogyaman Constituency, with similar support believed to have been given to other candidates.

He also ensured that all 20,450 polling station executives in the Eastern Region received funds to aid campaign activities.

“If this were not true, I would not say it. I benefited personally, so I can testify,” Hadzide stressed.

He argued that such capacity to mobilise and sustain party structures is critical, particularly now that the NPP is in opposition.

“We need someone who can support the party at this time. Dr. Bryan Acheampong understands the moment and has shown he is ready to invest in the party’s grassroots to secure victory.”
