Spokesperson for Dr. Bryan Acheampong’s 2026 campaign, Pius Enam Hadzide, has described him as a unifier who has consistently worked to promote peace and cohesion within the New Patriotic Party (NPP).
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen show, Mr. Hadzide said one of the major challenges facing the party has been disunity, and Dr. Acheampong is determined to ensure harmony ahead of the 2028 general elections.
He further revealed that following the 2023 NPP primaries, Dr. Acheampong gave GH₵5 million to Kennedy Agyapong to support his campaign efforts, even though he was not directly involved in that race.
“One of the major problems was the disunity in the party. Are we going into the 2028 elections with the same issue? Bryan Achampong has no problems with any of the aspirants and is on cordial terms with all of them. If he wins the NPP flagbearership race, it would not be difficult for the other aspirants to support him. He has an excellent relationship with everyone, including Kennedy Agyapong,” he said.
He emphasized that Dr. Acheampong’s pragmatic leadership style and clear vision make him capable of bringing the party together to secure victory in the 2028 elections.
“In fact, he spoke to Ken after the 2023 primaries, encouraging him to come out and support Bawumia for the elections. He even gave him 5 million cedis because he values unity, even though it wasn’t part of his campaign. He has pragmatic steps and a workable vision. He is capable,” he added.
