Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has visited injured winger Ernest Nuamah in France as part of Ghana’s ongoing preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

The Olympique Lyonnais forward is recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury he suffered in April 2025 during a Ligue 1 match against Lille.

Nuamah has made significant strides in his rehabilitation in recent weeks and has begun gym-based training, with his return to full on-field activity expected soon.

Addo used the visit to encourage the highly rated attacker and discuss Ghana’s World Cup plans, reaffirming his importance to the national team as he works towards full fitness.

The Black Stars coach continues to keep close tabs on key players, especially those returning from injury, as Ghana intensifies preparations for the global tournament.

Despite the setback, Nuamah has already made a notable contribution to Ghana’s World Cup qualifying campaign, featuring in five matches and scoring twice.

Addo has previously made similar visits to other national team players, including Abdul Mumin and Mohammed Kudus, as part of his hands-on approach to squad management.
