Black Stars head coach Otto Addo has called on his squad to stay focused ahead of their friendly clash with Austria, insisting the team has the quality to compete against any opponent.

Ghana will face the European side today at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion in Vienna, with kick-off scheduled for 15:00 GMT, marking the first of two preparatory matches.

Speaking to the press on Thursday, Addo emphasized that in modern football, no team should be underestimated.

“In modern-day football, to be honest, everyone can beat everyone,” the 50-year-old said. “We saw it at the last FIFA World Cup that there is no team that should be underrated.”

While acknowledging the prominence of traditional football giants like Germany, whom Ghana will face on Monday, Addo made it clear that his focus remains solely on the immediate challenge.

“Surely Germany is a high-profile team, but to be honest, I’m not thinking about Germany now,” he explained. “For us, the full focus is on Austria.”

Addo also reaffirmed his team’s competitive mindset ahead of the Vienna encounter.

“We want to win every match we play, this is for sure. And now the full focus is on Austria,” he added.

Following today’s game, the Black Stars will travel to Stuttgart to take on Germany on Monday, March 30.
