Ghana coach Otto Addo remains confident in the strength of his squad despite several key absences ahead of the Black Stars’ upcoming friendlies against Austria and Germany.
Injuries have ruled out Mohammed Salisu, Mohammed Kudus, and Francis Abu, while Inaki Williams and Brandon Thomas-Asante have also withdrawn from the squad due to fitness concerns.
Speaking ahead of the matches, Addo acknowledged the setbacks but emphasized that the team remains well-prepared.
“If someone gets injured, it is not always a good situation,” the 50-year-old said.
“Inaki has a good form, and Brandon came from an injury and started scoring a lot of goals, but we feel sorry for them because we want to allow them to show themselves, but without them, the team is in good shape.
“Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer came in to replace them, but we have to focus on what is ahead of us because there is still time, and there is no need to look behind at those who could be here but others who are also injured. I hope that everybody will be ready for the World Cup,” he added.
Ghana face Austria on Friday, March 27, at the Ernst-Happel-Stadion, with kickoff at 17:00 GMT, before travelling to Stuttgart to take on Germany on Monday, March 30.
