Manchester City midfielder Bernardo Silva has lauded new signing Antoine Semenyo following the Ghanaian forward’s impressive start at the Etihad.

Semenyo, who joined Pep Guardiola’s side from AFC Bournemouth on a five-and-a-half-year deal, has made an immediate impact, scoring in each of his first two appearances for City.

The 26-year-old opened his account in the FA Cup against Exeter City before finding the net again in Tuesday night’s 2–0 Carabao Cup semi-final first-leg victory over Newcastle United at St James’ Park.

Silva praised both Semenyo’s ability and character, saying: “He looks not just a very good player but also a very good guy, which fits right in with the team. He is a fantastic guy who wants to help us. Hopefully, he can keep going.”

Beyond his goals, Semenyo has earned Man of the Match honours in both appearances, further highlighting his seamless integration into the squad.

He will now aim to continue his strong start with a first Premier League start for City in this weekend’s derby against Manchester United.
