Ghana Football Association Communications Director Henry Asante Twum has expressed confidence that Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare will quickly recover from his recent dip in form.
Asare, who also serves as the Black Stars’ first-choice goalkeeper, has faced criticism from some supporters following a series of inconsistent performances in the ongoing 2025/26 Ghana Premier League season. His latest error in the match against Holy Stars intensified the backlash from fans.
However, Asante Twum believes the reaction has been blown out of proportion and urged Hearts supporters to remain patient.
“I think Benjamin will learn from his mistakes. I don’t think it is time for Hearts of Oak fans to panic,” he said. “These things happen. All the top goalkeepers in the world make mistakes.”
He noted that one mistake in eight matches should not overshadow Asare’s overall contributions, emphasizing that what truly matters is his response and mental resilience.
Twum expressed full confidence in the goalkeeper’s ability to regain his best form.
“I believe he has the capacity, competence, and ability to get back to where we all know him to be,” he said.
Asare has kept five clean sheets so far this season and is expected to start when Hearts of Oak face rivals Asante Kotoko in their Matchday 9 clash this weekend.
