Entrepreneur, conference speaker and corporate trainer, Jeremiah Buabeng, has challenged the popular notion that entrepreneurship is the only path to success, urging Ghanaians to adopt a more strategic approach to work and wealth creation.

Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme as part of the “Beginning the Year Right” series themed Living Wisely in 2026, Mr. Buabeng argued that many professionals in the corporate sector earn more than small and medium-scale business owners.

According to him, building and sustaining a successful business is difficult and comes with significant risks and challenges, stressing that entrepreneurship is not suited for everyone.

Mr. Buabeng explained that career prosperity is largely driven by three key factors: market value, visibility and leverage. He noted that salaries are a reflection of the value employers place on their employees.

“It is not enough to be good at your job; you must be seen to be good at it,” he said, explaining that employers cannot reward performance they do not see.

He encouraged employees to deliberately build expertise in their fields, invest surplus income wisely and create multiple streams of income, while remaining strategic in their career choices.

Mr. Buabeng also urged workers to reprogramme their mindset towards productivity, emphasising that wealth and success are the result of effective stewardship, consistency and measurable results, not merely business ownership.
