The campaign team of Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has refused to sign the pink sheet at the conclusion of the NPP presidential primary in Juaboso, citing alleged irregularities during the voting process.
Addressing the media, campaign representative Martha Kwayie Manu raised several concerns, including ghost names on the voter list, discrepancies between votes cast and the number of registered delegates as delegates’ data showed they had already voted while still in the queue, raising questions about who actually cast the votes.
She also alleged that some delegates were bussed in from outside the constituency to vote.
The refusal comes after the arrest of a man identified as Philemon for impersonating a delegate, an incident the Bawumia team says is evidence of broader flaws in the voting process.
According to provisional results from the constituency, Kennedy Agyapong secured 353 votes, while Dr. Bawumia received 207 votes, giving Agyapong a clear lead.
Due to the loss, Bawumia’s team maintains that the alleged irregularities cast doubt on the fairness of the election.
The campaign has called for a thorough investigation into the alleged irregularities and urged party officials to ensure transparency and fairness in the constituency’s primary election.
