New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has described the ongoing presidential primary as smooth and orderly, highlighting the strong security arrangements across the country.

Speaking to journalists after casting his ballot at the NPP headquarters in Accra on Saturday, January 31, Dr Bawumia said the robust security presence promised by the Inspector-General of Police was evident at polling centres nationwide.

“So far, the process seems to be very smooth. What the IGP promised with a strong presence at all polling stations, we see it manifesting, and I think that has resulted in a very smooth process so far,” he said.

He added that voting at the party headquarters was conducted without any challenges, describing the exercise as calm and well-organised.

Dr Bawumia also expressed gratitude to God and commended the Electoral Commission, the leadership of the NPP, and the media for their roles in ensuring a peaceful and successful process.
