Traders at Bibiani in the Bibiani Anhwiaso Bekwai Municipality of the Western North Region are counting their losses after a backhoe loader crashed into their shops.
The heavy-duty machine, a Shantui with registration number GN 3069-21, reportedly suffered a brake failure before ramming into three shops at the Bibiani Roundabout.
The affected structures included a mobile phone shop, an accessories shop, and a phone repair shop. Fortunately, no casualties were recorded.
An eyewitness, Collins Asiedu, recounted that he heard the horn of the machine and shouts from bystanders before it veered off and destroyed the shops.
The shop owners, who lost valuable items, have appealed to authorities and benevolent individuals for support to recover from the incident.
