The Accra Region Police Command has assured the public of its readiness to provide comprehensive security before, during, and after the parliamentary re-run election in Ayawaso East Constituency scheduled for Tuesday, March 3, 2026.

In a press release on March 2, the Command stated that sufficient police personnel have been deployed to all designated polling stations and key locations within the constituency to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and orderly electoral process.

“The Command has deployed adequate police personnel across all designated polling stations and key locations to ensure a peaceful, transparent, and orderly electoral process,” the statement, signed by Supt Juliana Obeng, Head of Public Affairs for the Accra Region, read in part.

The Police assured the public that officers will maintain a visible presence and conduct regular patrols before, during, and after the election to prevent any disruptions to public peace and security.

The Command cautioned against acts of violence, intimidation, or spreading misinformation that could undermine the integrity of the electoral process. “Persons found violating the law will be dealt with in accordance with Ghanaian law,” the statement warned.

Residents were urged to exercise their civic duty peacefully and report any suspicious activities to security agencies.

The Ayawaso East by-election follows developments that necessitated a parliamentary re-run, and the Police appeal for calm and cooperation as voters prepare to head to the polls on Tuesday.
