Awutu Senya West NADMO boss denies involvement in Kwashie Abbey chieftaincy dispute

-

The Awutu Senya West District NADMO Director, Adams Salifu, has denied allegations that he recruited military officers to install a chief at Kwashie Abbey.

On Thursday evening, a group of angry Asafo members from Kasoa Ofaakor reportedly besieged the Bawjiase District Police Command to demand the release of some military and National Security officers who had been arrested for allegedly attempting to help some royal family members install a new chief for the community.

Speaking to the media, the leader of the Asafo group accused Mr. Salifu of being responsible for bringing the security personnel into the area.

However, addressing a press conference, Mr. Salifu refuted the claims, stating that he is not a member of the Kwashie Abbey Royal Family and, therefore, could not have played any role in the installation of a chief.

He further alleged that the group that stormed the Bawjiase Police Command were land guards and illegal sand winners who are on the police’s wanted list, adding that he was surprised they were not arrested.

According to him, there is a deliberate attempt by some individuals to tarnish his image following his recent arrest of a group of illegal sand winners who destroyed over 150 acres of farmland at Kwashie Abbey.

Mr. Salifu emphasized that the false allegations will not deter him from continuing his efforts to clamp down on illegal sand-winning activities in Kwashie Abbey and across the Awutu Senya West District.
