The Member of Parliament for Asutifi North in the Ahafo Region, Dr. Ebenezer Kwaku Addo, has organised a free health screening exercise for widows and the elderly at Kenyasi to promote healthy living.
The exercise, which focused on blood pressure, diabetes, and eye screening, benefited a total of 124 people.

Speaking to Adom News, Dr. Addo said the initiative was organised as the country prepares to enter 2026, stressing the importance for the elderly and widows to know their health status and receive proper medical counselling to help them stay healthy.
He explained that the screening deliberately focused on blood pressure, diabetes, and eye care because these are some of the most common health conditions affecting the aged and widows in the area.
Meanwhile, beneficiaries, including Pokuaa Gladys and Akosua Serwaa, expressed gratitude to the MP for the initiative, noting that it was the first time an MP in the constituency had organised a health screening specifically for the elderly and widows.
They added that free prescription spectacles were also distributed to support beneficiaries with vision challenges, a gesture they described as timely and impactful.
