The National Chairman of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, has expressed gratitude to party supporters in the Effutu Constituency, assuring them that their dedication and hard work during the 2024 general elections will not be overlooked, despite the party’s inability to win the parliamentary seat.
Speaking during his Thank You Tour in the Central Region on Wednesday, February 12, 2026, Mr Asiedu Nketia said his visit to Effutu was aimed at recognising the sacrifices and efforts of party members throughout the campaign.
“We are here to sincerely thank you for your unwavering support during our campaign,” he said. “Even though we did not win the parliamentary seat in this constituency, your commitment and loyalty matter greatly to the NDC.”
He emphasised that the party values dedication and hard work, regardless of electoral outcomes.
“Appreciation is not limited to victory. Every effort counts, and we want to acknowledge all those who stood with the NDC,” he added.
Mr Asiedu Nketia also noted the challenge the party has faced in securing the Effutu parliamentary seat, despite strong grassroots support, describing it as a constituency with significant NDC backing.
“Effutu has many loyal NDC supporters, which makes it all the more important that we continue to strengthen our organisation here,” he said.
The Chairman encouraged party faithful not to be discouraged by setbacks, reminding them that perseverance and unity at the constituency level are key to future success.
“Your sacrifices will bear fruit in time. Stay committed, stay united, and together we will continue to advance the party’s ideals,” he assured supporters.
Effutu, located in the Central Region, has been a competitive political battleground between the NDC and the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in recent elections. In 2024, despite strong campaigning and grassroots mobilisation, the NDC was unable to unseat the incumbent.
Mr Asiedu Nketia’s Thank You Tour is part of the party’s broader post-election strategy to reconnect with supporters, assess challenges, and build momentum ahead of future contests.
