Ashaiman court remands four over possession of Indian Hemp

The Ashaiman Circuit Court has remanded into police custody four persons arrested for possessing 315 compressed parcels suspected to be Indian hemp.

According to the Tema Police Command, the court also ordered that the truck with registration number GN 7291-16, in which the parcels were concealed, be impounded until further notice.

The accused — Nura Sali, 44; Pius Chukwuma, 49; Mustapha Umar, 18; and Abdulai Amayau, 23 — were remanded to reappear before the court on Tuesday, September 30, 2025.

The suspects were arrested on Monday, September 8, 2025, following a tip-off. The parcels were found concealed in the tyres of the truck, which was intercepted and impounded during the operation.
