Asante Kotoko is on the right path under Karim Zito – Sarfo Duku

Asante Kotoko Communications Director, Sarfo Duku, has praised head coach Karim Zito, stressing that the club is on the right path under his leadership.

Zito, a former Black Satellites trainer, took charge of the Porcupine Warriors in the latter part of last season following the exit of Prosper Narteh Ogum.

Since his appointment, he has guided Kotoko to four major titles — the FA Cup, President’s Cup, Toyota Cup, and the Super Cup.

The Ghanaian giants will begin their 2025/26 CAF Confederation Cup campaign against Nigeria’s Kwara United on Sunday, September 21, at the Accra Sports Stadium in the first leg of the preliminary round.

Speaking ahead of the tie, Duku lauded Zito’s immediate impact on the team.

“Before the start of the season, Asante Kotoko had won four trophies, and beating Kaizer Chiefs to win the Toyota Cup is something incredible,” he told Asempa FM’s Ultimate Sports Show.

“We have been able to beat Bibiani GoldStars to win the Super Cup, and for the first time in 15 years, we have beaten Berekum Chelsea at their home ground. So, if you look at the project under Karim Zito, Asante Kotoko is on the right path,” he added.

Kotoko will travel to Nigeria for the return leg against Kwara United on Sunday, September 28, at the M.K.O. Abiola International Stadium.
