Apradehene demands strict enforcement of sanitation laws

The Akyem Apradehene, Obrempong Owusu Twum Barima Tiabofre I, popularly known as Dr. Rokoto, has urged Metropolitan, Municipal, and District Chief Executives (MMDCEs) to strictly enforce sanitation by-laws and prosecute offenders.

Speaking during a clean-up exercise organized by the Achiase District Assembly in Akyem Aprade, the chief expressed concern over indiscriminate littering, open defecation, and poor waste disposal, warning that such practices could trigger outbreaks of cholera and other diseases.

He stressed that rigorous enforcement of sanitation laws is essential to protect public health, the environment, and the economy.

The Achiase District Chief Executive, Samuel Owusu Brako, also highlighted the importance of sanitation, encouraging residents to adopt good hygiene practices.

He emphasized that cleanliness is a collective responsibility that cuts across political affiliations and urged citizens to take ownership of their environment to secure a healthier future.
