The Ampofo Adjei Band, in partnership with the Asante Mampong Government Hospital, has organised a free health screening exercise ahead of the highly anticipated 2025 Ampofo Adjei Lives Concert.
The 2025 edition of the annual concert has been scheduled for Friday, December 26, at the Eleanor Akufo-Addo Memorial Social Centre.

Speaking to Adom News, Ama Ampofo Adjei, a public health officer and daughter of the late music legend Akwasi Ampofo Adjei said the initiative was designed to go beyond entertainment and make a meaningful impact on the health of the community.
“This concert is not just about music and celebration. It is also our way of giving back to the people by supporting their health and wellbeing,” she said.

She disclosed that the upcoming concert is expected to attract several top musicians and Kumawood stars, including Ofori Amponsah, Pat Thomas, Kakyire Kwame Appiah, Ali Baba Foster, as well as popular Kumawood actors such as the Ship Dealer.
According to her, the health screening forms part of efforts to honour the legacy of their late father, who consistently used music as a tool to unite and uplift the people of Asante Mampong during his lifetime.

“Our late father always made Asante Mampong a focal point of his concerts. This initiative continues that legacy by combining entertainment with care for the wellbeing of the people,” she added.

Some beneficiaries of the free health screening expressed gratitude to the organizers and appealed for the programme to be sustained annually.
“This exercise has really helped us. We hope it will be organised every year so more people can benefit,” one beneficiary said.
