Members of pressure group Arise Ghana staged a protest outside the United States Embassy in Accra on Tuesday, January 20, 2026, calling for the immediate return of former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta to Ghana to face justice.
The demonstrators urged U.S. authorities to cooperate with Ghanaian institutions to ensure Ofori-Atta’s return, stressing that accountability must apply to all public officials without exception.

According to the group, the picketing was meant to reinforce their demand that the former finance minister answer to allegations arising from his tenure, stressing that no one should be allowed to evade responsibility.
Protesters carried placards with inscriptions such as “Let Ofori-Atta Face Justice,” “Ken Is Needed in Ghana,” and “Ghanaians Are in Need of Answers,” while others wore branded T-shirts bearing the message “Bring Ken Home.”
