Alexander Djiku completes move to Spartak Moscow on two-year deal

Ghana defender Alexander Djiku has completed a move to Russian giants Spartak Moscow, signing a two-year deal following his exit from Turkish club Fenerbahce.

The 31-year-old’s transfer is reportedly valued at €2.5 million, with additional performance-related bonuses. Spartak Moscow confirmed the signing on Tuesday.

Djiku recently made headlines for scoring the match-winning goal in Ghana’s 1-0 victory over Mali at the Accra Sports Stadium.

Prior to joining Spartak, he had attracted interest from several French Ligue 1 sides, including Lille, Nice, and Toulouse. The centre-back moved to Fenerbahce in 2023 from Strasbourg, making 75 appearances and scoring four goals during his tenure.
