The chiefs and people of Akyem Apinamang in the Denkyembour District of the Eastern Region have installed Bafour Nana Gyebi as the Nkosuohene of the community, tasking him to spearhead development initiatives in the area.

The colourful ceremony, held to officially outdoor him, highlighted the community’s development challenges, including poor road networks, inadequate educational infrastructure and limited health facilities.

Speaking at the event, Bafour Nana Gyebi expressed gratitude to the chiefs and people of Akyem Apinamang for the honour bestowed on him and pledged his commitment to improving living conditions in the community.

He assured residents of his support for road development, educational assistance for schoolchildren and targeted support for children living with disabilities.

Bafour Nana Gyebi further called on community members, opinion leaders and development partners to rally behind him in his new role, stressing that collective effort would be key to driving sustainable development in Akyem Apinamang.

Some chiefs and elders present at the ceremony urged residents to cooperate fully with the new Nkosuohene and support all development initiatives aimed at uplifting the community.

They emphasised that chieftaincy remains one of Ghana’s oldest and most respected institutions of governance, culture and unity, and cautioned against actions that could undermine public confidence in the institution.
