The Member of Parliament for Asutifi South in the Ahafo Region, Alhaji Collins Dauda, has expressed profound gratitude to President John Dramani Mahama for initiating construction of the long-neglected Tepa–Goaso road.
Speaking at Acherensua during an inspection of the ongoing works, Alhaji Dauda said the people of Ahafo would forever appreciate the President for addressing what he described as one of the region’s most critical infrastructure challenges.
He noted that despite Ahafo’s significant contribution to the national economy through gold, cocoa, and timber, the road remained in a deplorable state for eight years under the previous NPP administration, causing untold hardship to commuters and traders.
According to the MP, the decision by residents to vote out the NPP and bring the NDC back to power is already yielding results, with the once-dilapidated road now being asphalted to ease transportation challenges.
The Ahafo Regional Minister, Charity Gardiner, and the District Chief Executive for Asutifi South, Benjamin Assabil Donkor, also told Adom News that they were grateful to President Mahama for honouring his campaign promise to the chiefs and people of the region.
They added that the project is a clear demonstration of the President’s commitment to fulfilling development promises and improving the lives of people in Ahafo.
