The heat wasn’t just from the sun at the Legon Botanical Gardens, it was from the kitchen tents where families battled it out in the Family Cooking Competition at this year’s Adom FM Family Kolor Paaty.
Representing the colourful spirit of the event, four families, each assigned a colour, went head-to-head in a friendly but fiery culinary showdown that had both judges and spectators craving for more.

The Orange Team, led by the Oppong family, stole the show with their mouth-watering curry rice and vegetable stew, a dish that judges described as “rich in flavour, perfectly seasoned, and beautifully presented.”
Their teamwork and creativity earned them the coveted title of Best Family Chef 2025.

The Red Team (Amoako family) came in a close second with their hearty jollof with chicken praised for its authentic taste and perfect texture.
Taking third place was the White Team (Attiobe family), who impressed the crowd with their plain rice and chicken light soup, while the Blue Team (Osafo family) served a delicious Banku and Fante-fante stew that rounded off the competition with a burst of Ghanaian flavour.

It is worthy to note all meals were prepared with a signature secret ingredient, LaVonce tomato paste.
All contestants walked home with prizes from sponsors including U-Fresh and De-Rayman Bitters.
