Parts of Accra are set to experience temporary power outages from Monday, March 16 to Thursday, March 19, 2026, as the Electricity Company of Ghana carries out planned maintenance works to improve service delivery.
The four-day exercise will affect several communities across the Greater Accra Region between 9:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. each day.
On Monday, March 16, the first phase of the maintenance will affect Dome Pillar 2, Dome K Boat, Dome Ohene Down, No Visa, Tseaddo Goil Fuel Station, Tseaddo Royal Mart, and surrounding areas. Accra East communities including Akweteman, Doblo, Hebron, Medie, Sarpeiman, Satellite, and nearby areas will also be impacted.
On Tuesday, March 17, the works will continue in Kwabenya Oscar, Musuku, Kwabenya Township, and neighbouring communities. Anyaa Deeper Life and surrounding areas will also be affected.
Wednesday, March 18, will see outages in Aseidu Nketia, parts of Oyarifa, Gravel Pit, parts of Burma Camp, and surrounding areas. Parts of Accra West, including Olebu, parts of Canada, New Bortianor, Adanseman, Cassava Farm, Mr. Obeng Block Factory, Oshiyie, and nearby communities, will also be affected.
The final phase on Thursday, March 19, will impact Mandela, SCC, Sunny Coast, Korkordjor, Kinshasha, Darkuman, Kokompe, Nkrumah Flats, and surrounding areas.
ECG has apologised to residents and businesses for the inconvenience the temporary outages may cause. The company explained that the maintenance works are necessary to strengthen the electricity network, improve reliability, and reduce the risk of unplanned power disruptions in the future.
