The Association of Chartered Certified Accountants has called on the government to strengthen entrepreneurship training at the tertiary level as it launches a new Leadership Academy at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
The initiative is designed to prepare students for future leadership and business roles while bridging the gap between industry and academia.

ACCA says government support for entrepreneurial initiatives will help provide practical training for students, equipping them for the job market.
ACCA Cluster Head for West and Central Africa, Norman Williams, noted that such support will help bridge the gap between academia and industry. He spoke during the launch of the Leadership Academy at the College of Humanities and Social Sciences at KNUST.
The programme, themed “Leading with Purpose: Forging Sustainable Development,” aims to nurture a new generation of leaders by equipping participants with critical thinking skills, discipline, and practical leadership abilities.
A total of 50 students were selected for a mentorship programme focused on entrepreneurship, designed to ensure graduates are better prepared for professional and leadership roles after completing their studies.
Prof. David Asamoah urged beneficiaries to take full advantage of the opportunity, noting that participants were carefully chosen from a competitive pool of applicants and encouraging them to make the most of the mentorship and training offered.
