Abronye remanded, to reappear September 12

Bono Regional Chairman of NPP, Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC

The Bono Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Kwame Baffoe, popularly known as Abronye DC, has been remanded into police custody following his arraignment at Accra Circuit Court 9 on Monday, September 9, 2025.

Abronye DC is expected to reappear before the court on Friday, September 12.

The Ghana Police Service confirmed that he was arrested on September 8 on charges of “offensive conduct conducive to the breach of the peace.” Bail was denied by the presiding judge.

This legal action comes after Abronye DC sought political asylum in eight countries—Côte d’Ivoire, the United States, France, Italy, Canada, Spain, the United Kingdom, and Germany—citing threats to his safety and political persecution.
