The Executive Director of the Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), Sulemana Braimah, has welcomed President John Mahama’s directive to investigate concerns over the Big Push project, while stressing that the process must deliver tangible results.

Speaking on Dwaso Nsem on Adom FM, Braimah commended the government for taking steps to address the issues raised in the MFWA’s report.

He noted that he was not entirely surprised by the President’s action, citing previous decisions that reflect a commitment to national development.

However, he expressed hope that the directive would not be a symbolic gesture aimed at public appeasement, but would instead result in concrete action.

“The intention of the MFWA has never been to undermine any government, but to contribute to national development through accountability and transparency,” Braimah said.

He emphasised that Ghanaians expect a government that responds to issues with decisive action, rather than merely defending its position, noting that such responses are crucial for strengthening good governance and public trust.
