Ela Opoku, the Principal of Dadiesoaba Nursing and Midwifery Training College in the Ahafo Region, has announced that first-year students at the college are benefiting from the government’s “No Fees Stress” policy.
Speaking to Adom News, she explained that the 184 newly matriculated students, particularly those pursuing general nursing, have a significant portion of their fees covered under this initiative, describing the policy as highly commendable.
She noted that many prospective nursing students are often unable to enroll due to financial constraints, and the introduction of this policy has provided much-needed relief to both students and their parents. She stressed the importance of sustaining the program.
Additionally, Andriana Kesse, the Chief Nursing Officer for the Ahafo Region, spoke on the theme “Empowering Minds Through Academic Excellence and Innovation.”
She urged trainee nurses to leverage technology to develop innovative solutions for delivering quality healthcare to their communities. She emphasized that students must use technology positively to foster growth in the health sector and take proactive steps to contribute meaningfully.
