Germany-born attacker Ransford-Yeboah Königsdörffer has reiterated his ambition to earn a place in Ghana’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, insisting he will continue to work hard to impress the technical team.
The 24-year-old is currently in camp with the Black Stars after receiving a late invitation for the international friendlies against Austria and Germany.
Königsdörffer made his debut appearance in the first game, coming off the bench in the second half as Ghana suffered a heavy defeat to Austria last Friday.
With focus now shifting to the upcoming encounter against Germany, the forward is eager to seize another opportunity to convince head coach Otto Addo of his readiness for a place in the squad.
“I do my best in the team. I try to show the coach that I’m working hard to play in the World Cup, but in the end, the coach decides, so I will continue to do my best here and at the club level,” he told the media.
He added that the friendly against Germany offers another chance to prove himself.
“Tomorrow also presents another opportunity, and then we will see, of course, what happens. I want to play there (World Cup), and I think everyone in the squad wants to play there, and yeah, we will see, and hopefully everything is getting better.”
Ghana will take on Germany later tonight, with kick-off set for 18:45 GMT.
